A Scottish actor Gerard Butler was born in Paisley in Renfrewshire, Scotland to Margaret and Edward Butler. He is Scorpio and the youngest child of three children. His father is bookmaker and after divorced he was following her mother coming back to Scotland. He was attended St Mirin’s & St Margaret’s High School in Paisley and latter continued to study law at the University of Glasgow. To hone his interest in acting, he was taking a course at Scottish Youth Theater while a teenager.

He then appeared again in other film that followed his success that are Reign of Fire (2002), Dear Frankie (2005), The Game of Their Lives (2005) and Beowulf & Grendel (2005)beside that he establish his career by also appeared in 300 whom he plays as King Leonidas that brought him more to international attention. He also appeared again in other films such as The Bounty Hunter, How to Train Your Dragon, Playing for Keeps, and action thriller Olympus Has Fallen.
