Gemma Christina Arterton was born in Gravesend at North Kent Hospital as the daughter of Sally-Anne and Barry Arterton. She was attended Gravesend Grammar School for Girls, in Kent and latter enrolled to Miskin Theatre School in Dartford to hone her skill in acting.Sh then received full scholarship to attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
