Madonna was born August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan as Madonna Louise Ciccone. She has French-Canadian and Italian ancetry. Her first album from 1983 was named simply Madonna. After Like a Virgin, True Blue, and Like a Prayer she was already widely popular. She continued with singing and performing until now. In 2012, Madonna was performing on MDNA Tour.
She married Sean Penn on August 16, 1985 and, after their divorce, she married Guy Ritchie on December 22, 2000. She and Ritchie divorced in 2008. She has six children named Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, Stella, and Estere.
She caused a wave of controversy after kissing pop divas Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during a performance at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
