Morales began her career in the air on News 12 – The Bronx as the host of the first morning. She also served as camera operator, editor and producer of the network. In 1999, she was voted one of the 50 most influential for its coverage of news and reports from the Spanish newspaper El Diario La Prensa Latina. Previously, Morales spent two years working behind the scenes on Court TV. Shewas a correspondent for MSNBC in 2002-2006. It was announced on May 9, 2011 Natalie permanently replace Ann Curry as news anchor of “Today” as Ann Curry was selected to replace Meredith Vieira as co-host Matt Lauer. Both replacements occurred in June 2011.
Prior to joining MSNBC, Morales served as weekend anchor / reporter and co-anchor of the morning at WVIT-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, where she reported the shootings at Columbine, Hurricane Floyd, the presidential election 2000, and September 11, 2001. She also co-organized and informed Emmy nominated documentary, “Save Our Sound”, a joint production with WNBC in the preservation of Long Island Sound.In 2007 she received the “Latina in the media” award at the hands of Catalina magazine and the National Association of Latina Leaders.
