Rachel Emily Nichols is an American actress and model who was born in Augusta, Maine under Capricorn sun sign. She is the daughter of Jim, a schoolteacher and Alison Nichols. Her mother is of English, Scotch-Irish, German, Italian and Scottish descent. She was studied at Cony High School graduated in 1988 and then continued her study to Columbia University in New York City.

In 2002, she began her acting career. First, Nichols appeared in minor roles in several television series. Her first role was that of a Messy loving waitress in an episode of Sex and the City in 2002. In the same year she got her first role in a feature film. She played the role of Jessica in Dumb and dumber and graduated successfully. Then she received roles in the series Line of Fire and the horror films The Amityville Horror and The Woods. After an appearance in the little successful Fox series The Inside in 2004 she joined from autumn 2005 until the end of the series Alias – The agent on. From 2010 to 2011, she presented the Ashley Seaver is in the crime series Criminal Minds. In 2012 she took over alongside Zoë Bell starred in Josh C. Waller action horror film Raze. Since May 2012 she plays as Kiera Cameron, the lead female role in the sci-fi series Continuum.
