Sania Mirza is a professional Indian tennis player who was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to Tennis coach Imran. She is known with her basic punch powerful forehand. Mirza sun sign is Libra and she also holds the record as the highest-ranked India tennis player for more than a decade between 2003-2013. She was educated at NASR school in Hyderabad and later graduated from St. Mary’s College. She then enrolled to MGR Educational and Research Institute University in Chennai and hold honorary degree of Doctor of Letters there. Currently, Mirza is residing in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, and Dubai, U.A.E. with her husband.

Sania Mirza Career
Sania Mirza began playing tennis at age 6 years. In 2001 and 2002 she devoted herself entirely to play events on the ITF futures, mainly in her native country, managing to win three titles in singles and one in doubles.In 2003 Mirza made her debut in a WTA tournament in Hyderabad, as WC, losing in the first round Dominikovic. She fell into the classification of Doha tournament and won three more singles and one in doubles in the ITF circuit.
In 2004 she made his debut into two main tables WTA Hyderabad and Casablanca, waving both in the first round, but won her first doubles title with Liezel Huber becoming the first Indian player to win a WTA tournament. She won six ITF titles up (reaching 12) and two in doubles.She had a very good season on tour making its her title in Hyderabad, defeating Alona Bondarenko, the first Indian player to win a WTA tournament in singles. She have started in the main draw of all four Grand Slam tournaments, reaching the third round at the Australia Open, managing to be the first Indian player to achieve that instance on a Grand Slam tournament; and the fourth round at the US Open, becoming the first Indian to reach this stage.
She reached the quarterfinals at Cincinnati and Seoul (defeating Hingis), Forest Hills and Tashkent. In doubles, she won tournaments in Bangalore and Calcutta with Liezel Huber. In 2007, She started the year playing the tournament in Hobart in Australia, reaching the semifinal, losing to Anna Chakvetadze. Due an injury to her right wrist she did not participate in Seoul and Calcutta, but managed the quarterfinals in Tokyo Open. She was plagued by injuries and not so good acutaciones within the tennis year, she suffered a wrist injury that made her withdraw from the Olympics and the rest of the 2008 season. In 2009 he won the Open in Australia in the form mixed doubles with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi. In Osaka, she qualified and won her first round match against Shahar Peer 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. In the next round she defeated Viktoriya Kutuzova 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals defeated Marion Bartoli after going 6-4, 2-0 was forced to retire. In the semifinal she faced Francesca Schiavone of Italy to which she lost 6-2 6-1.
