She is the daughter of Pushpendra Saran who work as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and her mother, Neeraja Saran was a chemistry teacher. She is Virgo and for education, she entered Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, received Bachelor of Arts degree in literature. Her hobby is dancing and she trained by her mother in Kathak and Rajasthani folk dance.

Shriya Saran Career
Shriya made ??her film debut in 2001 with Telugu film Ishtam, and had her first commercial success with Santhosham (2002). She then acted in several Telugu movies, while some in Hindi and Tamil.In 2007, Shriya starred in Sivaji, the highest grossing Tamil film at that time. She also gained critical acclaim for her role in the Bollywood film Awarapan in 2007. In 2008, Shriya plays the lead role in her first English film, The Other End of the Line. Her following projects included popular films such as Kanthaswamy (2009) in Tamil, and Pokkiri Raja (2010) in Malayalam, her roles in which have made her one of the leading actresses in the southern Indian film industry.
