The actress first appeared as a guest in a large number of series (mainly those of his father), such as The Love Boat, TJ Hooker, Hotel, Fantasy Island, Vega $, and Saved by the Bell. In 1990 she becomes more widely known, thanks to the interpretation of one of the main roles of the 90210 series, co-produced by her father and Darren Star. After the series, Tori has used his fame to try to diversify his career.

In 2007, her husband Dean McDermott and start their own reality show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. The following year, she reprises her role as Donna Martin in the 90210 spinoff, during a few episodes of the season.
After several appearances in new series like Less Than Perfect or Smallville, the young woman gradually abandons her job for her family and business matters.
